Artwork

The paths of our lives can be traced sometimes like rivers on a map. In the same way that scars on our bodies evoke the time and milieu in which they were conceived, this work strives to use images, words, and numbers like a map of scars to tell a story about who and why we are. Literally drawn on maps, this work intends to take us on a journey through a personal landscape of symbols. Through this process, we introspectively engage in our own journeys, drawing lines between points of context and symbol. In this way we are moved through a relative narrative that speaks to the ways in which we each view and experience our own worlds.
